Self-hosted: data stays with you
For banks, health care, law firms and public institutions we recommend running the software on your own server. Then personal data never leaves your network, and no data processing agreement with us is needed for the processing itself.
- Runs on any web server with PHP 7.4 or newer: no database, no Composer, no other libraries. A Docker image is included.
- Works without internet access. Only the optional LLM gateway connects to the AI provider you configure, or to a model on your own server.

LLM gateway
An OpenAI-compatible endpoint: your developers change one URL, and every prompt is pseudonymized before it reaches OpenAI, Mistral, Anthropic, Gemini or a local model. Answers, including streamed answers and tool calls, come back with the real values. Gateway documentation
Who pays the AI provider. The gateway is included in the price. The AI model itself is not: either use your own provider key, which we pass on and never store, or we invoice the provider's tokens at cost plus 15 %.
API keys and limits
The allowance belongs to your organisation, not to a single key. Create as many keys as you like — production, staging, one per product — at no extra cost; they draw on the same monthly allowance, so separating your environments never costs more. Any key can be disabled on its own the moment it leaks.

Above the allowance nothing stops working and nothing is refused silently: extra requests are simply counted and charged at €1.50 per 1,000, on the next monthly invoice. If you would rather be refused than billed, say so and we set a hard limit on your account instead.
Send the key as Authorization: Bearer pii_…. You can read your own figures at any time: GET http://pii.kwizmo.eu/api.php?action=usage returns the requests your organisation has used this month, how many are left, when the allowance resets, what each individual key used, and the last twelve months; add &month=2026-09 for an earlier month. We count requests, never their content.
What self-hosting costs
A one-time licence for your organisation, plus a yearly fee for updates and support. There is no request counting and no limit on use: the software runs on your hardware.

The first year of updates and support is part of the licence and is invoiced with it. Afterwards it is yearly and optional: the software keeps working without it, but you receive no further updates, no new detection rules and no support. The licence is for your own organisation and may not be passed on or resold.
Larger deployments usually want help beyond the licence — installation, a security review, tuning the detection to your own documents, or a signed support agreement with response times. Those are quoted separately.
Hosting
The hosting location and the hosting provider are stated in the contract and in the data processing agreement.
The service is operated by Kwizmo d.o.o., Ogrinova 31, 1291 Škofljica, Slovenia. Processing happens in memory; only the time, IP address and API key of each request are logged, for 30 days.
Data processing agreement
When your company sends personal data to our hosted API or gateway, we act as your processor under Article 28 GDPR. We sign a data processing agreement with every business customer. It covers:
- processing only on your documented instructions, and only in memory;
- confidentiality of our staff;
- technical and organisational measures (see below);
- sub-processors (hosting provider) and advance notice of changes;
- help with data subject requests, breaches and impact assessments;
- breach notification without undue delay;
- deletion at the end of the contract, and audits.
AI providers you reach through the gateway are chosen by you and are not our sub-processors; they receive only pseudonymized text. Request the agreement.
Availability
We promise what a service of this size can actually hold, and we say what it means in minutes:

If we miss it you receive service credits against the monthly fee. Planned maintenance is announced at least 72 hours in advance, happens at night, and is not counted. Nor is the unavailability of an AI provider you reach through the gateway: that is their service, not ours. The details are in the service level agreement.
Monitor the service yourself: GET http://pii.kwizmo.eu/api.php?action=health returns status 200 when the engine, configuration and storage work. Our measured availability is on the status page, with the same figures as JSON.
Source code
Business customers receive the complete source code, so they can check that the service does what this page says: nothing is stored, and the browser extension sends nothing.

Security measures
- No storage of submitted texts, results or replacement lists; no cookies or sessions on the web tool.
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS), strict security headers, protection against cross-site requests.
- API keys stored only as SHA-256 hashes; keys can be disabled instantly.
- Rate limits per network and per key; request log limited to time, IP address and key id, deleted after 30 days.
- No third-party scripts, fonts or trackers on the website.
- The engine never throws: if detection fails, the text is masked more coarsely instead of being passed on unprotected.
